Head Teacher’s Welcome
Welcome to Rowhill school
I have had the pleasure of teaching in and leading for the past 25 years and find great satisfaction in seeing children and young people challenged to grow and become the best they can be.
We are a Special Behaviour and Learning School, for children with a range of special education needs and disabilities (SEND) including Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). It is full of fantastic, vibrant and incredibly talented students. Our dedicated and highly skilled staff team are passionate about supporting our pupils’ and each other.
Their constant focus on finding new ways to meet our mission statement that all students should aspire to be:
- successful learners
- confident individuals
- responsible citizens
- effective contributors
is something that makes me, personally, very proud.
Currently, we offer provision from the age of 5 through to 16, divided into the traditional phases of Primary (5-11), key stage 3 (11-14, key stage 4 (14-16). As a Kent Special School, we obviously prioritise students from the north-west districts of Dartford, Gravesham and Sevenoaks but we occasionally offer places beyond this area when capacity allows.
We work closely with our partner schools within the Kent SEN Cooperative Trust which helps support, develop and innovate provision that aims to meet the expanding need within the future context of SEN.
We aim to work in partnership with parents and other professionals as well as enhancing our links in our local community and beyond.
Whilst this is a brief outline of our school I do hope that the information on the rest of this website provides further detail to answer any questions you might have, nothing replaces a visit and seeing our special school ‘in action’. We pride ourselves on collaborative and partnership work and enjoy having visits from a range of people. So please explore our website, If you would like to know more however, please do email our inbox firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01474 705377 and we will be sure to help. Please also feel free to contact us should you wish to either visit or if you have any suggestions for us to make this site even better.
