STLS

The Dartford Specialist Teaching and Learning Service (STLS) is employed by Rowhill School and located at a satellite base in Greenhithe. The STLS is a service commissioned by Kent County Council provides support and training to all mainstream schools and Early Years settings in the Dartford District.

The team advise and support mainstream Early Years settings and schools to build capacity and confidence, in order to deliver high quality provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to improve pupil progress and outcomes. A collaborative problem solving approach, using the skills and experience of STLS staff together with expertise in all settings and schools, lies at the heard of the service delivery

Access to support for schools and settings is through the Local Inclusion Forum Team (LIFT) and Early Years LIFT process which provides a structure to support schools and settings within the District. This may include support for an identified pupil or group of pupils, multi-agency working to support children and their families and/or training for schools/settings.
